Epoxy.com Product #1NT ESD Epoxy is a high-solids bis-A epoxy floor coating designed to provide electrostatic control properties to concrete and other non-conductive substrates.
Product #1NT provides good chemical resistance, excellent bond to properly prepared concrete, and good impact and wear resistance. It is designed for areas requiring electrostatic dissipative or conductive floor surfaces.
When applied over a non-conductive primer or basecoat, Product #1NT can provide electrostatic dissipative readings of less than 1 x 109 ohms. When applied over a suitable conductive primer system, conductive readings of less than 1 x 106 ohms may be achieved.

Surface Preparation
Surface preparation is one of the most critical parts of any successful resinous flooring system installation.
All substrates must be clean, dry, sound, and properly prepared before application. Concrete should be free of dust, laitance, curing compounds, oils, grease, sealers, coatings, moisture-related contamination, and any other material that may interfere with bond.
Concrete should be mechanically prepared to achieve a suitable surface profile for the system being installed. Work should be performed by trained or experienced contractors or maintenance personnel familiar with resinous flooring installation.

Installation
Installation of Product #1NT will vary depending on the project requirements and the system design.
Product #1NT is typically applied in a single coat at approximately 50 to 80 square feet per gallon using a 25 to 30 mil notched squeegee. The material should be lightly back-rolled with a medium nap roller and then cross-rolled with a spiked roller while wet.
Use of a suitable spiked roller may improve leveling and surface appearance.
Care should be taken to minimize air entrapment caused by excessive rolling. Overworking the material may affect the final appearance.
Application below approximately 20 mils may increase the likelihood of a more prominent orange peel texture.
Optional Thinning
Where needed to reduce orange peel, Product #1NT may be thinned with 5% to 10% MEK or anhydrous isopropyl alcohol, 99%.
Use only those specific solvents if thinning is required. Do not substitute other solvents without confirmation from Epoxy.com.
Application Conditions
- Substrate temperature should generally be between 55°F and 85°F.
- Relative humidity should generally be between 30% and 85%.
- The substrate temperature should be at least 5°F above the measured dew point.
- The substrate must remain dry before, during, and after application.
- Do not apply over condensation or visibly damp concrete.
Humidity itself is not usually the primary problem. Condensation is. If the slab temperature is at or below the dew point, moisture may form on the surface and interfere with adhesion, appearance, and performance.

Product #1NT is available in selected ESD colors. Colors may vary from standard non-ESD colors because of the conductive filler content.

Product #1NT is generally cleaned with neutral soaps or detergents. Cleaning procedures should be selected to preserve both the surface appearance and the required electrostatic control performance.
Harsh cleaners, waxes, floor finishes, or residues may affect the electrical performance of an ESD floor. Always verify maintenance products and procedures before use.
Clean Up
