Product #1 Hi-Build Epoxy Coating
A two-component, high-build industrial epoxy coating for durable, seamless floors and protective coating systems where abrasion, stain, and chemical resistance are required.
General Description
Epoxy.com Product #1 is a pigmented, high-build industrial epoxy coating used where a smooth, durable, high-gloss protective finish is required.
It is suitable for high foot-traffic areas and light to moderate forklift service. Product #1 may be installed as a smooth coating or combined with an appropriate aggregate to produce a textured, slip-resistant finish or a heavier flooring system.

These are typical values, not guaranteed specifications. Cooler temperatures extend working, recoat, traffic, and cure times. Actual coverage varies with surface profile, porosity, waste, and application method.
Surface Preparation
The surface must be clean, dry, sound, and properly prepared. Remove dirt, laitance, grease, curing compounds, waxes, coatings, and other contaminants by appropriate mechanical preparation.
Concrete must provide a sound, open, clean surface suitable for a resinous coating system. Remove dust and debris before application.
Mixing Instructions
- Condition both components and the application area to at least 50°F.
- Stir Part A and Part B separately.
- Combine 2 parts Part A with 1 part Part B by volume.
- Mix for approximately three minutes with a low-speed drill and suitable paddle.
- Mix only the amount that can be placed within the working life.
Application
Apply Product #1 at approximately 8-10 mils per coat, yielding about 160-200 square feet per gallon per coat under ideal conditions. The completed system must be at least 10 mils thick.
Product #1 may be applied by squeegee and back-roll, roller, brush where appropriate, or special airless spray equipment. When rolling, use a medium- or short-nap roller and avoid over-rolling, which may entrap air.
Apply subsequent coats within the recommended 12-16 hour recoat period at 75°F. Cooler conditions extend the recoat time. When the recoat period has been exceeded, mechanically abrade and clean the cured surface before applying another coat.

Limitations
- Do not apply below 50°F.
- The substrate must be clean, dry, sound, and properly prepared.
- Do not apply the completed system below a total thickness of 10 mils.
- Cool temperatures extend working, recoat, traffic, and cure times.
- Do not assume chemical-resistance ratings apply to continuous immersion.
- Fast Cure, Cold Temperature Cure, Product #1W, and ESD are separate variants.
Cleanup and Safety
Remove uncured material from skin as soon as possible using soap and water. If soap and water are not sufficient, use a waterless hand cleaner such as Gojo® or Fast Orange®. White vinegar or 91% isopropyl alcohol may help remove remaining uncured epoxy. Strong solvents are not recommended on skin.
Clean tools and equipment promptly with xylene or lacquer thinner before the material cures. Follow the current SDS and use appropriate personal protective equipment, ventilation, fire-prevention practices, and disposal procedures.
