Product #633 is a high-performance, highly chemical-resistant epoxy novolac coating engineered for floors, walls, secondary containment, trenches, pump pads, process areas, and other demanding industrial environments.
It provides superior resistance to strong acids, alkalies, solvents, and many other industrial chemicals. Product #633 may also be used as a seal coat over compatible epoxy mortar systems where increased chemical resistance is required.

Composition
Product #633 is a 100% solids, modified cycloaliphatic amine-cured epoxy novolac resin system.
Product #633W is the Epoxy.com wall-grade version for vertical surfaces and other applications requiring increased sag resistance.
Color Selection
Product #633 is available in clear and selected factory-tinted colors. Clear Product #633 is naturally amber.
- Clear and light colors will amber or yellow with age.
- Do not field-tint clear Product #633 with pigment packs.
- Custom colors require laboratory approval and may involve additional cost and longer lead times.
- Request an actual cured sample when color selection is important. Screens, printers, photography, lighting, and surrounding surfaces can alter the apparent color.
Ambering is primarily an appearance consideration and does not normally indicate a reduction in the coating's chemical or mechanical performance.

Cure and Service Schedule
The following cure schedule is based on both ambient and substrate temperatures of approximately 75°F (24°C). Lower temperatures extend working, cure, and service times. Higher temperatures shorten them.

Cure-Time Warning
Do not expose Product #633 to chemical service until full chemical resistance has developed. Actual readiness for traffic or service also depends upon film thickness, airflow, substrate temperature, installation conditions, and the severity and type of anticipated exposure.
Although Product #633 reaches its published performance properties after approximately seven days under normal curing conditions, epoxy curing continues beyond that point. Lower temperatures extend cure times, while higher temperatures shorten them.
Surface Preparation
Surface preparation is the most critical part of a successful resinous coating installation. All substrates must be clean, sound, dry enough for the intended system, properly profiled, and free of contaminants that could interfere with adhesion.
The substrate temperature must be at least 50°F (10°C). The surface must also remain above the dew point and be free of condensation during application and cure.
Concrete
Concrete must be free of dirt, laitance, grease, oils, waxes, curing compounds, coatings, sealers, dust, and other foreign materials. Prepare the surface by suitable mechanical means such as abrasive blasting or mechanical abrasion. Remove all dust and debris before application.
Acid etching should only be used where appropriate and where all reaction products can be completely removed. Mechanical preparation is generally preferred for demanding chemical-service systems.
Steel — Immersion Service
Remove oil and grease, then abrasive blast to near-white metal in accordance with SSPC-SP10 / NACE No. 2.
Steel — Non-Immersion Service
Remove oil and grease, then abrasive blast to commercial blast in accordance with SSPC-SP6 / NACE No. 3.
Apply the specified primer or coating before visible oxidation or contamination occurs.

Mixing
Product #633 is supplied at a mixing ratio of 2 parts A to 1 part B by volume.
- Pre-mix Part A and Part B separately before combining them.
- Measure or combine the components in the correct 2A-to-1B ratio.
- Mix for approximately three minutes with a suitable Epoxy.com mixing paddle or equivalent using a low-speed drill.
- Move the mixing paddle around the container and scrape the sides and bottom as necessary to obtain a uniform mixture.
- Do not cross-contaminate Part A and Part B containers, tools, or measuring equipment.
- Do not mix more material than can be placed within the available working time.
If Epoxy.com Anti-Skid Fine or Anti-Skid Coarse is incorporated directly into the coating, add approximately 12 volume ounces per mixed gallon and mix until uniformly dispersed. Do not exceed 16 volume ounces per mixed gallon unless specifically approved for the application.

Application
Application procedures depend on the substrate, specified system, service conditions, and installation method.
Product #633 may be applied by brush, roller, squeegee, or suitable plural-component airless spray equipment. Conventional single-component airless equipment may not be appropriate because of the material's viscosity and working life.
Priming
When Product #633 is applied over properly prepared concrete or wood, prime with the specified compatible Epoxy.com primer. Product #12 Chemical-Resistant Epoxy Primer is commonly used where the system design requires it.
Priming may be optional over properly prepared steel, depending on the service environment and written system specification.
Coating Application
For a typical coating installation, apply two coats at approximately 160–200 square feet per gallon per coat. This produces approximately 8–10 mils per coat, or 16–20 mils total dry-film thickness for the two-coat system.
Because Product #633 is a 100% solids resin and hardener system, wet-film thickness and dry-film thickness are essentially the same when the material is properly mixed and installed.
Actual coverage varies with substrate profile, porosity, surface condition, application method, installer technique, waste, and specified film thickness.

Cleanup
Clean skin promptly with soap and water. Clean tools and equipment before the material cures using an appropriate solvent such as xylene or lacquer thinner, where permitted.
Follow all Safety Data Sheet precautions, ventilation requirements, fire-safety rules, and local regulations for solvent use, storage, and disposal.
Maintenance
Clean fully cured Product #633 with compatible neutral soaps or detergents. Cleaning chemicals, concentrations, temperatures, dwell times, mechanical methods, and rinse procedures should be compatible with both the coating and the service environment.
Inspect chemically exposed flooring and containment systems regularly. Repair cuts, impact damage, joint failures, worn areas, or loss of bond before aggressive chemicals can reach the substrate.

- Lower temperatures substantially increase working, recoat, traffic, service, and chemical-resistance times.
