Epoxy.com HIGH-BUILD EPOXY FLOOR COATING SYSTEM - GENERAL USE
20-25 Mils

PART 1 - GENERAL

1.01 SUMMARY

Furnish all necessary materials, labor, and equipment required to prepare substrate and install the Epoxy.com High-Build Epoxy Floor Coating System.

1.02 RELATED WORK

All drawings and general provisions of the contract including General and Special Conditions.

1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE

A. Manufacturer Qualifications

Obtain primary epoxy coating system materials including primers, resins, hardening agents, aggregates, and finish coats from a single manufacturer. Secondary materials shall be as recommended by the manufacturer of primary materials.

Installer shall verify locations of all joints requiring treatment and follow manufacturer recommendations for joints, expansion joints, and cracks.

Provide a full-scale portable mock-up (minimum 4 square feet) to establish acceptable quality and appearance.

1. Approved mock-up shall be the standard of quality for installed work.

2. Unacceptable work shall be removed and replaced. Aesthetically unacceptable but well-bonded work may be recoated if thickness permits.

1.04 WARRANTY

Provide the manufacturer's standard published warranty for the specified products when installed in accordance with manufacturer instructions.

1.05 SUBMITTALS

Submit manufacturer technical data sheets, system descriptions, installation instructions, and color charts.

Submit a 6 x 6 inch cured system sample when required for finish verification.

1.06 DELIVERY, HANDLING AND STORAGE

Deliver materials in original unopened containers with labels intact. Store materials per manufacturer instructions.

1.07 PROJECT CONDITIONS

Maintain ambient and substrate temperatures at or above 60 degrees Fahrenheit for 72 hours before, during, and after installation.

Substrate temperature shall be a minimum of 5 degrees Fahrenheit above dew point during application and for 24 hours after.

1.08 PROTECTION

Protect adjacent surfaces and finished flooring from damage and contamination until fully cured.

PART 2 - PRODUCTS

2.01 MATERIALS

A. Basis of Design - Epoxy Systems, Inc. dba Epoxy.com. The coating system is specified as a complete package.

Primer: Epoxy.com Product #899 Primer / Low Modulus Binder OR Epoxy.com Product #12 Epoxy Primer, selected based on substrate condition and manufacturer guidance.

Body and Finish Coats: Two coats of Epoxy.com Product #1 - 100% Solids Epoxy Coating.

Crack Filler: Epoxy.com Product #2704.

Joint Filler (Non-moving joints): Epoxy.com Product #11 Epoxy Joint Filler.

Provide total installed system thickness of 20-25 mils with a dense, non-porous finish.

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.01 PREPARATION

Verify substrates are clean, sound, and properly prepared. Mechanically prepare concrete to minimum CSP-3 profile.

3.02 APPLICATION

Apply all materials in strict accordance with manufacturer instructions.

Apply selected primer (Product #12 or Product #899) at coverage rates sufficient to fully wet and penetrate the substrate.

Apply two coats of Product #1 to achieve required system thickness.

3.03 CURING AND PROTECTION

Cure materials per manufacturer instructions and protect from traffic and contamination until fully cured.
