Epoxy.com Product #660
Universal Primer and Finish
DESCRIPTION
Epoxy.com Product #660 Universal Primer and Finish is a one component, moisture cured polyurethane aluminum filled primer and coating. Its low viscosity, high "wetting" characteristics, and creep, undercutting, and blistering resistance make Epoxy.com Product #660 Universal Primer and Finish a superior primer and finish coat. Epoxy.com Product #660 Universal Primer and Finish undergoes a rapid molecular weight change as it polymerizes into a high molecular weight finish with excellent corrosion and abrasion resistance.
Epoxy.com Product #660 Universal Primer and Finish is an ideal barrier coat when upgrading existing finishes to strong urethanes, coal tars, etc., and is used as a primer for all Epoxy.comVinyl Ester Systems. The low solvency power of Epoxy.com Product #660 Universal Primer and Finish enables it to be applied over most types of coatings without causing lifting. A test sample should be made to confirm adhesion. Most generic types of chemical or conventional coatings may be applied over Epoxy.com Product #660 Universal Primer and Finish with excellent adhesion.
Epoxy.com Product #660 Universal Primer and Finish has excellent chemical resistance as a finish coat to protect metal, concrete, and wood surfaces in:
- Chemical Plants
- Refineries
- Electric Generating Stations
- Fertilizer Plants
- Pulp and Paper Mills
- Water Treatment Plants
- Processing Operations
- Marine Installations
ADVANTAGES
Excellent primer for all types of surfaces.
- Superior "wetting out" properties over sound, rusty steel.
- Can be recoated in 1 to 2 hours and can be top coated with most generic type coatings.
- Cures down to 25°F on dry surfaces.
- Corrosion resistant: Passes 12,000 hours in salt cabinet.
- Good weather resistance.
CONSIDERATIONS
- Do not apply over frost, wet, or damp surfaces, or in very high humidity conditions.
- Not recommended for use as tank lining for constant immersion.
- Must be recoated within 24 hours, when being coating with the #660 Primer Coating.
- If coating with epoxy or vinyl ester, it MUST BE COATED WITHIN 1-2 HOURS of application, depending on the temperature and drying conditions.
- Seal partially used containers to prevent material from reacting with moisture in air.
- Product going over this primer must be applied before this primer is totally hard to the touch. So you must only coat small areas at a time that you can recoat before this primer gets hard.
